It’s annual photo shoot time! We did ours a couple weeks ago – I like ample time to work on my Christmas card.
I get pretty giddy about styling. When choosing a color scheme, I usually start with one of the kid’s outfits. This year had to be a no-blue scheme (well, aside from blue jeans) because I realized the last three years included navy. Good grief, there are so many colors to choose from, why did I get stuck on blue every year?
For this year’s colors, I was inspired by some of the gold and real foil card options from Pear Tree Greetings, and then I saw a gray and mustard boy’s shirt at Gap, which became my starting point. The photographer suggested that the kids wear patterns and the adults wear solids. My dress was lace, but it was cream and subtle enough that I wasn’t breaking that rule.
All the shopping links are on my Polyvore set. I got all the Gap clothes for 50 percent off, and I also got the Anthropologie dress for $89 instead of $178! The earrings on the set aren’t ones I actually wore. I got mine on sale at Macy’s for $10, but I couldn’t find those online. And Hubby’s clothes were just from his closet, not a new purchase.
Baby Girl’s headband was from Nugget Baby, but it was a custom flower instead of the bow, but the bow is also adorable! I was impressed with Nugget Baby – I emailed her pics of the dress, she matched it, and I got the headband within the week.
I will post the real photos when we get them, but for now, here are some of the shenanigans during the shoot.
I snapped a couple more pics of that cute headband when we got home.
